paul_kedrosky_5x7.jpgDr. Paul Kedrosky is an analyst for CNBC television; a columnist for TheStreet/RealMoney; the editor of Infectious Greed, one of the best-known business blogs on the Internet; and he has published more than 300 articles in publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Harvard Business Review.

Dr. Kedrosky is a Senior Fellow at the Kauffman Foundation, where he is focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the future of risk capital. He is also a venture partner with Ventures West, one of the longest standing institutional venture capital firms in North America, where his interests include consumer technologies, media, semiconductors, and life sciences. He sits on the board of various private companies.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Kedrosky founded the technology equity research practice at HSBC James Capel and was involved in transactions which created in excess of a billion dollars in public market value. Dr. Kedrosky was also one of the first analysts to cover Internet companies, as well as making early and timely calls in networking and communications.

Dr. Kedrosky obtained his undergraduate degree in engineering from Carleton University, his MBA from Queen’s University, and his PhD from the University of Western Ontario.

Capnote Speaker: William L. Valenti

Entrepreneur and Global-Business Executive

billsheadshot.jpgBill Valenti is a seasoned entrepreneur and global-business executive, combining more than 20 years of experience in international investment banking and successful technology start-ups.

Mr. Valenti spent 17 years in Asia developing commercial and investment banking business for Chemical Bank/Riggs Bank. Returning to the U.S., he launched New Pacific Partners, an investment banking partnership focused on Asian-market strategies.

He later co-founded and served as CEO of Tegic Communications, a software development/licensing firm (“T9” text messaging) that was acquired by AOL. Mr. Valenti also has founded and/or headed a number of innovative companies including World2Market, Hutchison Mediator, HEEDworks, Inc. and Melodeo.

Mr. Valenti received a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Temple University and a Master’s in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management.
