March 17th Portland’s Nouvola closes on $350K as part of larger seed round

Cloud performance testing and analytics firm Nouvola has completed the first portion of its seed round.
The company has raised $350,000, according to documents filed with theSecurities and Exchange Commission.
The company, which previously went by the name Cloudy Days, won the launch stage category of the Bend Venture Conference and that $250,000 investment prize is part of this tranche. It also includes investment from some additional angels.
According to the filing, the company is looking to raise $1 million.
Co-founder and CEO Paola Moretto declined to comment further on the fundraising activity, citing SEC rules.
Nouvola helps users test software in order to know if it is ready for peak use times, as well as to know if an update will impact existing users. The company also offers analytics that customers can use to better gauge if they are paying the right amount for cloud services based on use.
The company, which has an office at the Portland State University Business Accelerator as well as a small office in San Francisco, is ramping up its sales and marketing function to develop its brand as a cloud performance expert. It is also building its team to accelerate its software development.
